Katherine Rhoda grew up in Milo, Maine, steeped in community and church music, taking piano lessons from 1st grade onward and teaching herself to play the guitar her mother got her with S&H Green Stamps. Since then her adventures have included studying at Oberlin College, busking in the Paris subway, homesteading in Hiram, Maine, working on Monhegan Island, doing musical activities in nursing homes, and marrying a Brit with a stupendous bass voice. She sings and plays Marxophone, violin-guitar, and dolceola (all vintage American fretless zithers formerly sold door-to-door), as well as guitar, accordion, and more. Her goal is heartfelt music fostering authentic human connection. She released her second album, Joyful Confluence, in August 2016.
