Perry
Desmond-Davies

Perry's original songs relate experiences in life, relationships, work, even serious illness. Her distinctive voice ties the words and music together: always tender, lyric and melodic, at times soaring, seductive or smoky. Says a fan: "Perry's voice and songs are pure and powerful; they touch unguarded parts of the listener, filling us with joy, nostalgia and longing. Once you hear Perry Desmond-Davies, you will never confuse her with anyone else. "

Perry began performing on the New England coffeehouse scene as a teenager, then stashed away the music to focus on career and family. She returned to her musical roots a few years later, and has been sharing her voice and songs with happy listeners ever since.
Perry was a finalist in Portsmouth, NH’s Prescott Park Arts and Acoustic Festival Emerging Singer-Songwriter competition, and was chosen as one of ten finalists selected nation-wide for the 2011 Susquehanna Music Fest in Havre de Grace, MD. She recently performed for the second consecutive year on the Wachusett Valley Folk Festival's Showcase stage. She has also hosted several successful coffeehouses and open mikes, including The Gathering Place(Nashua, NH), The Pleasant Café Open Mike(Maynard, MA), and a Boston-area based “Unplugged” monthly music series.
Her first recording, "This One's for You", is from a live performance at Simple Gifts Coffeehouse in Nashua, NH. In addition to her heartfelt original compositions, Perry's unique tributes to John Prine’s "Angel From Montgomery", Gillian Welch’s "Orphan Girl", and a scorching rendition of the classic "House of the Rising Sun" had the audience of 100 joining in with their own harmonies and percussion as well. Her a capella encore will bring tears to your eyes...
Sweet Ride, her recent release, is a full length studio album that has been described as: "an inspired, addictive mix of folk, blues, bluegrass and a capella, all driven by an exceptionally beautiful voice."
The 12 original songs (and three live bonus tracks) continue to receive wide acclaim and constant airplay across the US, UK and Canada. The title track was recently featured on NPR Car Talk's Christmas show!!
Sweet Ride and This One's for You are both available for purchase and digital download (per track or whole album) right here on her website, and also at CDBaby, ITunes, Amazon MP3, CDFreedom, Rhapsody, and many other online distributors.
You can also view Perry's video clips from recent performances on YouTube...it's a sweet, SWEET ride 'round here!

Perry and her great friend and music partner, Marc Bridge, teamed up to form "Bridge & Davies", showcasing their original songs in harmonies that listeners claim "sounds like three-part harmony, how do you do that?"
They've been described as "The new 'Civil Wars', without the acrimony" , a great compliment, they think....

Here's more:
Maybe it was predestined. Two singer/songwriters, both influenced by the 70's music of icons such as Bob Dylan, Neil Young, James Taylor and Warren Zevon wander into each other at a Boston Area open mic. After a few years of honing their craft, they both release individual CD's of original music on the same day. "The rest is history", says Marc Bridge, "I found myself out performing solo and wishing I could have Perry's vocal backing on my songs, they just felt empty without it". Says Perry:"It didn't take long for us to look at each other and say, why don't we just do this as a duo?"

Now, whether they are singing their original songs or covering "Boomer Folk" songs, as they like to call them, you can find Perry and Marc performing as Bridge & Davies throughout the New England coffee house, restaurant and arts center circuit. Their music pulls from a variety of genres but leans in the direction of Folk, Americana, Blue Grass, Country and Rock. Between them, they play acoustic and electric guitars, piano, banj-uke, mandolin, harmonica, percussion and kazoo, although not usually all at the same time.

They have each received glowing reviews of their individual CD's, American dReam and Sweet Ride, which are both available for download or purchase at a variety of online distributors, notably CDBaby, Rhapsody and ITunes, and have released a a 9-song live-recording from a recent house concert, and currently working hard on their first studio CD, targeted for late-spring release. Perry has been an MSA Board Member since 2018.
