As a native New Englander, Ric has spent half his life as an acoustic musician. Since writing his first song in 2014, he has been selected for two 2017 national performing songwriter competitions, the 2018 CT Folk Festival audition showcase, the songcrafter stage at the 2019 Providence Folk Festival, and nearly a dozen Club Passim Tribute Nights including those for Emmylou Harris, Bob Dylan, Ellis Paul, Gillian Welch and Woodstock. He has performed on the stages of Club Passim for their 2018 Memorial Day Campfire Festival, the Spire Center for Performing Arts, South Shore Folk Music Club and the Rose Garden Coffeehouse opening for such acclaimed artists as Archie Fisher, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Boxcar Lilies, and Abbie Gardner. Ric actively features across southeastern New England at markets, galleries, wineries, and coffeehouses.
In January 2018, Ric released a debut CD 'Take It All In' which has found airplay throughout the Northeast, Scotland and the UK. These eight originals and one cover by songwriter Joe L'Esperance, are personal and intuitively familiar. Ric's illustrative writing and fingerstyle playing pay gratitude to his singer-songwriter influences while offering the listener an anchor of ease and hope.
